This notice explains where IEPVue uses artificial intelligence, what those systems can and cannot do, how expert knowledge shapes the experience, and what happens to information submitted to an AI-enabled feature. It supplements our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
The short version: Vue is an automated AI system built around Dr. Kristen C. Eccleston's methods and IEPVue's reviewed rules. It is not Dr. Eccleston or another person. Ordinary reports and chats are not individually reviewed before delivery. AI can be wrong, so important information must be checked against the original records. IEPVue does not opt in to using family content to train general-purpose AI models.

IEPVue is designed around the review methods, decision rules, communication approach, and professional experience that Dr. Kristen C. Eccleston developed over two decades in special education. Those rules are used to shape what the system looks for, what it should leave out, how it explains uncertainty, and how it supports a parent in preparing for a collaborative school-team conversation.
AI is the technology used to apply those product rules at scale. Vue is not Dr. Eccleston, does not have her judgment in every situation, and should not be presented as a human expert. Unless a user separately purchases a service expressly described as human-reviewed, Dr. Eccleston and other professionals do not personally review or approve an ordinary report, chat response, or draft before it is delivered.
AI can misread handwriting, checkboxes, tables, dates, page numbers, names, scanned text, or the purpose of a form field. It can overlook information, connect facts incorrectly, or produce language that sounds confident even when the evidence is incomplete.
IEPVue is designed to distinguish among:
Reports should identify the relevant source and page or section when the system can do so reliably. A source locator or excerpt is a navigation aid, not a guarantee that the reading or interpretation is correct. Users should compare important statements with the original record before raising them in a meeting, sending them to a school, or making a decision.
For the feature a user requests, AI processing may include document text or images, relevant profile context, the user's message, report or finding context, and system instructions needed to produce the response. We seek to send only the information needed for that operation.
IEPVue uses business and API services supplied by commercial providers, including Anthropic, OpenAI, and—in some features—the application platform's AI service. Provider roles may change as the system evolves. Material changes are reflected in the Privacy Policy.
IEPVue does not opt in to using documents, messages, reports, student information, or saved memory to train or improve a provider's general-purpose AI models. IEPVue does not route family information through a consumer chatbot account.
No-training treatment is not the same as immediate deletion. Under standard commercial API terms, a provider may retain inputs and outputs for a limited period—commonly up to 30 days—for security, abuse prevention, service operation, or legal compliance unless a different approved retention control applies. Provider legal holds or security investigations may create additional exceptions. IEPVue's own source-document and saved-content periods are described separately in the Data Retention Policy.
Personalization means using authorized context—such as a selected student profile, jurisdiction, plan type, stage in the process, or a user-approved memory—to make the response more relevant. It does not mean training a general-purpose model on the family.
If a memory feature is offered, it should clearly identify what will be saved. Saved memory is intended to be limited, visible, editable, and deletable by the account holder. It is not intended to retain a hidden copy of the original documents. Users should not save information they do not want available for future account interactions.
Routine IEPVue outputs are automated. If IEPVue offers a separately purchased Advocate Review or another human-review service, the service description will identify what a qualified person reviews, the scope of that review, the delivery terms, and any additional retention that applies. Purchasing software access alone does not include undisclosed professional review or representation.
AI may reflect limitations or bias in training data, source documents, or the way a request is framed. IEPVue uses reviewed rules, testing across varied student profiles and document types, and neutral, respectful language standards to reduce unsupported assumptions. It should not infer a diagnosis, family motive, school motive, race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, or legal conclusion from incomplete information.
The app is intended to support parents with a wide range of education, language, attention, memory, and processing needs. Plain language and structured presentation are intended to improve access without removing the evidence, qualifications, or important detail a user needs. These safeguards reduce risk but cannot eliminate every error or bias.
IEPVue can help a user understand, organize, and prepare. The user decides what to ask, send, sign, accept, reject, or pursue. Editable drafts are starting points; IEPVue does not send them to a school. If an output appears inaccurate, do not rely on it merely because it is detailed or confidently written.
